TUTORIAL

Access the console of your Cisco switch and enter the following commands to enable and configure SNMP on your Cisco switch.

# configure terminal
# snmp-server group FuckingIT  v3  priv
# snmp-server user gohan FuckingIT v3 auth sha 0123456789 priv aes 128 9876543210
# snmp-server contact Vegeta
# snmp-server location Planet Vegeta

 

  • Change the name of FuckingIT group.
  • Change the user gohan.
  • Change password authentication 0123456789
  • Change the privacy password 9876543210
  • Change the contact Vegeta
  • Atere location Planet Vegeta


Save your configuration via the command below

# copy running-config startup-config



On a Linux computer, install the snmpwalk utility and test the SNMP configuration using the following commands.

# apt-get install snmp
# snmpwalk -v 3 -u gohan -l authPriv -a SHA -A 0123456789 -x AES -X 9876543210 192.168.5.1

 

  • Change the user gohan.
  • Change password authentication 0123456789
  • Change the privacy password 9876543210
