This tutorial describes a detailed procedure demonstrating how to create and access a new instance of Ubuntu Linux virtual machine in Amazon's AWS cloud.

Open your browser and access the website of aws console. (LINK)

On the initial menu, click on the EC2 option as shown.

Select the option instances on the instances menu

Click on the Launch Instance button, select the Ubuntu Linux operating system, the type of desired virtual machine and click on the Review and Launch button.

Save your passkey to subsequently access the system remotely.

Check the properties of your virtual machine and note the IP address later to make remote access.

Download the software  Putty. (LINK)

Download the software PuttyGen. (LINK)

Run PuTTYgen, click on the Conversion menu> Import key and make the conversion from its original format passkey for the PPK format accepted by the putty.

Access your virtual machine, open the putty tool and configure your access to the remote Linux server using the default username ubuntu, the IP address noted above and the converted passkey to the PPK format.

To select your access key, click on the SSH Auth menu option and select the converted passkey for PPK as shown.

Clicking on the button to open remote access screen should be displayed.

Your new Linux virtual machine has been created and successfully accessed.
